"Big" Bruce Palmore was an icon to me; he was a MSgt and he never forgot that. He wore his stripes like no other NCO who I have ever known--he wore them with pride, authority, and a "respect me" attitude. As I (then a SSgt) moved up in rank, MSgt Palmore's manner helped to guide me in my Air Force career. He was the NCOIC, Load Planning (we planned all the cargo loads on all outgoing cargo aircraft). He was a fair supervisor and would chew you out when called for. He chewed on me a few times when I did not do the right things on shift. A super NCO and individual; may God bless his soul!

MSgt Bruce Palmore was a truly outstanding NCO and I consider it an honor to have worked with him during my stint as Traffic Duty Officer and OIC Load Planning.  He provided sage guidance and an outstanding example not only to the airmen and NCOs that worked for him, but also to a junior officer who remembers him fondly.
