Very sorry to learn about my friend and neighbor passing. Everyone in this neighborhood knew him sa a kind and hunble person. He was always there to help anyone who needed it. I remember when my home heater stop working in the dead of Winter. Dee walked down to my house evaluated my heater. He replied, Ed, I think that can fix it. And, that he had a part in his garage that may work. To see Dee's garage u would immediately think that this guy was a very good mechanic or a very serious Hoarder! Well, Dee did fix my heater. " He was very good mechanic".  I will pray for his family. Dee my friend Rest in peace. Ed

I'm very sorry to learn about my friend and neighbor passing. Everyone in this neighborhood knew Dee as a kind, humble person and good fix just about anything. He was always there to help anyone who needed it. I remember when my home heater stop working in the dead heat of Winter. Dee walked down to my house evaluated my heater and replied, "Ed, I think that can fix it", and that he has part in his garage that might work. Oh! to see Dee's garage u would immediately think that this guy was a very good mechanic or a very serious Hoarder! ( smile) Oprah's Hoarder shows had nothing on Dee's garage. Trust me. (smile). Only he can find things in it he knew exactly where every thing was. WOW! u would not beleive it. Dee my friend, sorry but your garage was Junky. (smile). Well, as promised he did fixed my home heater. It continued to work for another ten years until no one good fix it. My wife and kids had heat again and everyone was happy. I tried to pay him but his service and part but Dee refused to accept any money from me and replied "Ed, that what neighbors are for to help each other. out ". Shocked, Dee being a White man and I'm a Black man born and raised in the deep south I was also "stunned". What could I say? He was very nice person, good mechanic and loved his Beer and me too. (smile) We downed a lot beer in the little space left in his garage. (smile). There are still good people in this world and Dee was one of them. As noun, I mimic Dee's memores. I pray for his wife, boys and family.

Dee my friend "Rest In Peace".

This is hard to believe. I have known Joe (Durwood) since we were A/3C  at Sheppard AFB when we were TDY to Passenger Service Tech School.  We meet again at Yokota in 1967 and again at McChord in 1972. I spent the night at his house in San Beradino when I went to the MAC NCO Academy in 1978. When I was stationed at Misawa I saw him often when I transited Yokota going to and from Clark TDY. He was like a brother and he and Emiko and boys were like family.

Another great originally Maine native has just winged his way to heaven.  God Bless him and Emiko and the boys.
