Col Murphy was the deputy commander of 610 during my time there. During the move of Avionics from Hanger 6 to Bld. 75, Col Murphy and I became acquainted. I found him to be most interested in the welfare of our troops. He frequently checked in and asked "is there anything I can do to help". I found him to be kinda easygoing, laid back, and always concerned for out troops. He was a true enlisted man's "general".
