I was in Tech school with Rango. We went to get our orders for our pcs and were told that the first people assigned were not going to like their orders. Rango and I were stationed in the "worst place in the world" per Rango, Hawaii. You see he was from Hawaii and wanted to see the world and got to go home instead. We were sent to Hawaii the end of Nov 1966 and for Christmas Rango invited about 10 of us to spend the night with his family since we were so far from home. We ate everything from Sushi to octopus and had our first taste of Hawain beer Primo. That stuff was nasty but a great time was had by all. Sure miss you pal!

I knew Rango from Yokota and then from Chu Lai, Vietnam where we lived in the same hooch. He was a fun guy and a great cook, made a smoker from scrap lumber and whipped up some fantastic ribs in the boondocks. RIP my friend.......
