I had many happy times (wife getting job with DOD Schools, making TSgt, working with VFW Post 9876 and 9555 and District 2 - Japan) and some sad times (death of my guardian/uncle, house fire of my Tachikawa Lot House and being forced out of the air operations field into the command post field, while performing the same job.) Joined the VFW shortly after arriving from Phan Rang AB, RVN. When my base lot house burned down the base wanted $500 to tear down and remove the house. Members from VFW Post 9876 & 9555 came out one weekend and torn down the house and the reusable lumber and etc. were donated to a church group which was building a retreat in the countryside.

I attended two reunions, but unfortunately no other Command Post personnel attended. The Maintenance and Transportation (ATOC, Pax Svc, Air Freight & Fleet Svc) did however make me feel more than welcome and were as friendly as they were back in the good old days at Yokota Air Base. I really think that they do an amazing job with the Reunions. I plan to attend again in the near future. I have had several knee and carpal tunnel surgeries over the last few years. After Yokota I went to the following bases: Travis, Andersen, Wright Patterson, Lajes & Scott. Worked at a Wernersville State Hospital in Pa. as a Psyc Aide and a Therapeutic Activities Services Worker and retired Jun 30, 2007.
