Flight Line

Off the top of my head three things.
1. Rainy nights standing next to the power unit close to the engine fan to keep warm. I put a set of earphones in my headset and had a small radio in my pocket to keep entertained.
2. Running the fuel panel on my first 141 refueling and constantly thinking I was gonna unbalance the plane and tip it on a wing.
3. Buddies trying to teach me to ride a dirt bike in the parking lot of our barracks. I promptly hit the side of the barracks but I've been riding motorcycles ever since.

Since 2007? Dealing with two teenagers.
Before that.
72 to 74 - Travis AFB
74 to 77 - Los Angeles Trade Tech getting my AA in motorcycle engineering
77 to 85 - Working at various motorcyle shops around the LA area. Kawasaki, Yamaha, Motoguzzi, BMW, Triumph, BSA, Suzuki, and lastly Honda. Never a Harley dealer. During this time took one 2 month motorcycle trip around the US. Also 3 trips (called the Three Flags Classic) from Mexico to Canada or the reverse. Many other shorter trips with old friends from motorcycle school.
79 to 84 - Attending night school at Pasadena City College and Cal Poly Pomona getting my Mechanical Engineering degree.
Feb 1985 - Started working for the City of Glendale
June 1985 - Married to Karon
1987 - Bought our house in Pasadena
1992 - Adopted Josh at 2 months old
1996 - Adopted Laura at 2 weeks old
2010 - 25 years with the City and starting to look forward to retirement.
