What years were you assigned to the 610 MASS at Yokota?

1967 TDY fromTravis AFB 120 days in support of Operation Cold Cider

Where did you work with-in the 610 MASS?

Flight Line APG

Do you have any favorite stories or notable events to tell us about while you were at Yokota?

First visit to the Cherry Bar in Tachi and first and last time to see Jeanee Rose. All this thanks to co worker Jerry Davis!

I was attached to the 610 MASS as an A2C during the Spring of 1967. My Crew Chief was Tsgt Bobby Jordon. I really enjoyed my time. I just remember we worked hard and played hard. I later would transit Yokota as a Flight Engineer on C124s, C141s &C5s.I did enjoy living at Johnson AB,club membership night had .10 cent drinks,so for 2 bucks you could really get "hammerd".On a C5 crew rest back in the 80s we went over to Tachi just to check out the base.Japanese security would not alow us on base.Later found out the runway was gone with only a helicopter pad in it's place.

Have you ever attended a 610 MASS reunion?

Yes

Comments:

Playing Texas Hold-um at my V.F.W.Post and traveling with the wife.I'm a member of the "Cheap Seat Gang"at the Reno NV.Air Races.Last year was my 29th year in attendance minus a few. Chief Master Sargent Bob Fuchs who is part of this group was my C5 Chief Engineer and a good friend, although he probably wouldn't admit to it.I guess I'll never get those dam airplanes out of my system.I was fortunate enough to get a job with American Airlines as an aircraft mechanic.I was lucky enough to get a position in field training as an instructor for American and traveled quite a bit including trips to Narita. Our 777s were being serviced by ANA ,so I did training with their maintenance crews. In previous years, Yokota was a great crew rest while flying as a Flight Engineer on C124s, 141s,C5s and KC10s.My last trip to Yokota was the Spring of 1991 in support of Desert Storm. I am looking forward to seeing all of you in Sept.2021.

Hey Jerry ,long time no hear from, hope all is well in Southern Cal! Are you going to make it to the reunion in Dayton Oh.? The wife and I will be driving up from North Texas and should arrive a day early and help set up the gig. How did you make out with your V.A. claim? My supplemental for sleep apnea is still in limbo so I'm still stuck at 40%Take care and hope to see you in Dayton, Bob Garcia.
